Q - What are the three basic proportional areas of a landscape painting?

A - An average landscape is made up of three proportional areas which include the background, the middle ground and the foreground. The background is the area furthest away from the viewer, the mid ground usually contains the main subject and the foreground contains objects closest to the viewer.
