Q - What are tempera paints?
A - Tempera paints are a water based paint made from various colored pigments and a binder. The modern version is commonly used in children's paints. Egg tempera has a long history appearing in ancient Egyptian artwork and was used extensively by artists through the 15th Century. The deveoplemet of oil paints resulted in it's diminished use.
