What is scraping in watercolor?

Today's Art Q and A

Q - What is scraping in watercolor?

A - Scraping can be used to remove certain areas of paint on an artwork. Using a knife or flat edge scraping can be used to create texture in rocks, trees, mountains or other objects. Also, scraping can be used on small areas to allow the white of the paper to show through.
