How do you use plastic wrap to create texture in watercolor?

Today's Art Q and A

Q - How do you use plastic wrap to create texture in watercolor?

A - Plastic wrap is an easy way to create some random texture in watercolor painting. The texture effect can be used on trees, rocks, mountains, or even on a sea surf rendering to give the impression of white foam. The example below was just a block of color added to the paper, and while still wet some crumpled plastic wrap was placed on top of the paint. A small book was placed on top of the wrap for pressure and then allowed to dry for about 1 hour. Be sure not to lift the wrap before drying is complete or the lifting effect of the paint will not work.
