Q - What is a thumbnail sketch?
A - A thumbnail sketch is a small quick rendering usually in pencil to allow the artist a simplified view of the subject. It can be used as a value study or just as an aid for a larger artwork. Also, thumbnail sketches are useful in storyboard art used in film or television productions.
