What is geometric abstract art?

Today's Art Q and A

Q - What is geometric abstract art?

A - Geometric abstract art is an art style that relies on the use of geometric shapes and forms typically in a nonrepresentational or abstract form of rendering. The emphasis is also on the lack of three-dimensional space lacking the depth of field found in conventional art such as representational landscapes for example.  Part of this is in recognition of the limitations of the art medium mainly canvas and paper. However, geometric abstract art does appear in many three dimensional mediums such as sculpture.
